The Three Muses - Hot Hot Hot

This is NOT really a picture of the Yellowstone National Park fire of 1988. This is some photoshopping using the Gradient tool and a photo of my front yard.

My husband and I were staying in West Yellowstone during the fires. We were allowed to go into some parts of the park during the day. At night we saw skies that were just like this scene. The red skies were awesome and frightening. The snows of early September eventually stopped the fires..

About 1.2 million acres were scorched; 793,000 acres were burned; 25,000 firemen were engaged in fighting the fire. No one died of burns. Two firefighters died. One was killed by a falling tree and one died while piloting one of the planes used in the firefighting.

The 3 Muses theme is "Hot Hot Hot".

    Faye, you have captured the look of a forest fire so vividly that I would never have guessed it was a Photoshopped scene close to home. Amazing! I am so impressed with your work in gradients to achieve such a stunning effect. Great work.
