Art Creations Friday 93
The image given to us by Art Creations Friday for use in our challenge entry was so very beautiful that I didn't want to alter it in any way. I made this paper ATC by printing out one small image and then a larger, lighter version to use for the background. The caption is, of course, a part of Keats' "a thing of beauty is a joy forever". I added the text digitally.

Hot Pink and Silver - Dezinaworld
We all know it's hard to get metallics to show well on our blogs. I had a terrible time with the photos I took. Finally I scanned the card and it came out much better, even though some of the colors are a bit off.
I have used a piece of parchment paper my friend Laura gave me. She had misted and sprayed with alcohol/mica sprays. I added a bit more of the hot pink. I also did some stamping in clear embossing ink and silver embossing powder. The flowers are cut from some fabric my friend Merrie sent me and a couple from a magazine.
This card, my entry for Dezinaworld's challenge, is going to my niece who is in the hospital with stage 4 breast cancer. I hope the hot pink will brighten her day.

The Three Muses - Hats!
The Three Muses Challenge this week centers around hats. I have used my ancestor Mrs. Sallie Rhea, because I just love her hat. I have no idea what color it really was, but I used pink and green to match the Dezinaworld background.

Monday
My favorite Monday challenge is featuring a topic I don't do so I am posting this picture of my neighborhood instead.
And I think the scene is so pretty I am posting it again on my other blog.

I think this quote from Mahatma Gandhi has universal wisdom so I've used it on my entry for Keep it Simple (bow) and for Gothic Arches (text). Sorry, the bow got skewed in the scanner.

So Artful - Key
Jeanette at So Artful has given us this delightful key image to use this week. I've made a digital piece showing a Dover bride and groom, a barn, the key and the love text: "There is nothing Love cannot face. There is no limit to its faith, its hope and its endurance.".

RBLCB & ACF
Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog has autumn foliage as its theme. Art Creations Friday furnished us with this beautiful png image of a couple of red mushrooms.
Starting at the back of my paper collage is my white cardstock. In front of that is a sprayed/misted piece of parchment paper given to me by my friend Laura. On top of Laura's paper is some handmade paper I got at Ollie's discount store. In front of that are my stamped images from Stampin' Up, Hero Arts, and Sarah Beise. The inks are Colorbox, Stampabilities, Rubber Stampede, and Ranger Posh Rainbow inks.
I then scanned the collage and added via Photoshop Elements the mushrooms (ACF), the dark border and the text.

Wednesday Stamper - Hearts
Hearts is the theme of Wednesday Stamper. I have used a white cardstock for the greetings card itself. My layers include blue cardstock, shiny silver frame, lace paper. The heart was cut with the heart punch with the blue heart cut with scissors. The label is a Fiskar template. I do so wish the silver showed better. It was actually black in the scan. I've changed it to gray, but it is really very shiny silver, given to me as a prize by Frankie.
Edit: I have added a second heart post, mostly digital using a background from Kubivet, brushes by Annika von Holdt, and the image from Dover Publications. I have now stamped the heart with a Inkadinkadoo clear stamp so the entry meets the WS guidelines.

Paper Minutes - 3 colors
Paper Minutes wants us to use the colors: petrol, blue, and white in our cards or other art work this week. I found the word: petrol in wikipedia saying it means a dark blue-green. So here is my version of using these three colors.

Keep it Simple - Charming
Here is a very simple card I made using my watercolors, a piece of green cardstock folded into a card, and a charm. The charm was the hardest part since I don't normally use them and had a difficult time finding one in my stash.
Other simple cards can be found at Keep it Simple.

Play Date Cafe - light blue, mintish green, and beige
Here is a card I made for Play Date Cafe Challenge, where the theme is the colors: light blue, mintish green, and beige. This is a watercolor I whipped out tonight. I hope the colors are close enough to count.
I noticed that the last post I made, which was for Art Creations Friday, also uses these colors.

Keep it Simple - Seeing Stars
My entry for Keep it Simple (Seeing Stars) was a lot easier than it looks. I used some waste paper that was protecting my desk for the background. I stamped the music background stamp in grape crush (Stampin' Up). The 2 stars were cut with my Fiskar cutter and template from some other homemade background paper. The ribbon already had a knot and I just glued it on. "Celebrate" was written with a Sharpie.

Artekarten - Twisted Ink Pads
This is my entry for Art Cards' challenge of Twisted Ink Pads. The card was made using regular green cardstock that I embossed in a Cuttlebug folder and then smeared with a green ink pad. The ATC in the center is made by the twisted ink pad method (I think I understood what the technique was). The butterflies are K&Company.

Around the World - Rainbow Lady
Around the World is Cynthia's of Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog choice for our theme this week. I got a travel brochure in the mail today for an antiquities voyage from Rome to Athens. I've used a few of the images from the brochure.
My background was made using two ink pads that I smudged onto my work sheet, spritzed the ink with water, and laid my cardstock onto the inked area.

The Three Muses - Music
The Three Muses has the theme of music this week. I have used some of the background paper I dyed a couple of weeks ago using natural foods and plants. I stamped it in Ballet Blue (Stampin' Up) with my sheet music background stamp. The purple crinkled paper has been dry embossed using a cuttlebug music folder. This paper was made by my very talented friend Laura.

Thanksgiving ATC - TMTA
Think Monday Think ATCs has thanksgiving and harvest as its theme or at least the lovely fall colors. I'm not sure mine qualifies since there was something about a pumpkin in the description. However, I do have pumpkin color in my background.
The background was stamped numerous times with 3 different leaf stamps in red, burgundy, and brown and then run through a cuttlebug folder. The two dominant leaves were stamped in red, burgundy and green. The fall flowers were part of a K&Company package of embellishments.

Play Date Cafe
This tag is for Play Date Cafe, where the theme is the colors of: hot pink, burnt orange, turquoise, and chocolate brown. I worked for two or three hours trying to get these colors to work together. Having failed to do that, I am still placing my tag into the challenge.
I think I should have used a different color ribbon. I dyed this one to match the tiny hot pink border, but I think brown or turquoise would have been better.
Edit: So I have taken the tag and now made a card with it. I got my Techniques Junkie newsletter today and decided I'd try my hand at the technique that the design team used. (see above)
I have also added a digital piece i just made using these colors. (see left)
