Rainbow Lady - Dogs

This digital collage is a tribute to our awesome, lovable labrador retriever who is waiting at the rainbow bridge for us. She stole our hearts and after 6 years we still miss her so much.

The lower right corner she is sitting tall and strong at age 2. In the background she is middle aged and beginning to have some aches and pains. In the foreground she is in her older years and is either singing or talking - not sure which. She was good at both. She knew she was a dog. She loved to play with other dogs and got so excited when she saw them. She was wonderful with people too, both old and young.

This is my Rainbow Lady's Challenge entry for this week - Dogs.

(I hope I can get through all the entries and comments without crying too much.)

So Artful Challenges - Teatime

Here is my simple entry for the So Artful Challenge for this week - Teatime.

I used a photo of one of my mother's cups and saucers and a freebie from Dover Publications.

The 3 Muses - Art in the Round

The theme for The Three Muses challenge this week is art in the round. I decided to go with only stuff that I had created myself as my design elements. Everything had been stored in my computer to use.

The background was a collage I made with paint, gesso, scraps of papers, etc. The aqua rectangle was a background I had created with paints and sprays. The image of the wildflowers was stamped onto another background I had made. The butterfly is a png image I made from a photo of my butterfly suncatcher

TMTA - Hollywood Stars

Here is my ATC for the Think Monday Think ATCs challenge. The background is a small piece from my newest background I made using Lumiere and other mica paints. The circles and butterfly are impressions from rubber stamps while the paint was still wet. Audrey Hepburn is a freebie from Dover Publications. The glittered star/flowers was added for sparkle .

Art Cards - Patterns, Quotes, Sayings

This card was made tonight for Art Cards Challenge - Patterns. The background pattern is a stamping of SU ink using a foam stamp that I carved. The white background paper has been patterned by using a Sizzix embossing machine and a Cuttlebug folder. The stamp was given to me by my darling granddaughter. I trimmed the sides a bit after posting this and added some Stickles. I am sending the card to Peewee, who has just gone into an assisted living facility.

Edit: Oops! It seems that the translation given to us as patterns was not correct! The theme is quotes or sayings. So I am adjusting my entry to meet the requirements with this quotation from John Wesley, founder of the Methodist Church.

The 3 Muses - Paper Minutes Challenges

I made this card today for The Three Muses challenge (outside the frame - birds or other). I have my brown framed card sitting on a turquoise cardstock in order to photograph it. The butterfly is attached only on the body.

I am also entering this in the Paper Minutes challenge (colors of orange, turquoise, brown).

I will permanently back my card face to the turquoise before sending it on to someone as a greetings card.

Since everyone else did digital, I made mine into a digital too.

A Valentine from a Tag

I made this valentine from the tag entered in a challenge last week. The darkest background is decorative paper. The tag and the other background are cardstock that I have sprayed with mica mists.

Have a Heart - Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Here is a valentine I am sending my granddaughter. The part that looks purple is really Stickles and it is sort of holographic, but definitely not purple. This is my entry for Rainbow Lady's Challenge.

It also works for So Artful challenge - red, pink, and white.

TIO - The Time Traveler's Wife

My entry for The Time Traveler's Wife is done on beige cardstock stamped with a Hearts in Touch unmounted rubber stamp. I love these stamps for their themes, but I am not an expert at using them. I added a few machinery-looking stampings since I don't know what a time machine really looks like. The butterfly represents the time the Mister has flitted away unexpectedly. This is my entry for Tag it On.

Pecreativ - Hearts

This is my entry for the Pecreativ Challenge - "Hearts".

I made the decorative background paper using white cardstock, which I sprayed with several mica mists. Then I lightly stamped it with gray ink. The next step, I used my "Love" background stamp and some red distress ink. After this I ran it through the Cuttlebug using my favorite folder. Lastly (at least for the background) I used gold and pearl PearlEx powders and rubbed along the raised embossing. After that I attached 3 hearts.

Art Cards - Eyes

For Art Cards I have made this ATC for the theme: eyes. The idea came to me that there are many different kinds of eyes, at least in the English language.. I used photos of some of them for this piece: the eye of the hurricane, the eye of round roast, the eyes of the potato, and the eye of a needle. I could have drawn an eye. All my old textbooks are decorated on many, many pages with eyes. I don't know why I draw eyes when I doodle, but I do.

I love the expressive eyes in this little girl so I used her on this valentine related card.
