One Stop -SAWO

Wow, what challenges today! First, One Stop wants something "Simply Stunning" but using no designer paper. That isn't a problem since I rarely do use designer paper. Second, Saturday's Workout gave us a faux leather technique to do using masking tape. I am combining the 2 challenges with this entry. If the kissing couple looks familiar, it should. I used it not long ago for a Wednesday Stamper challenge.

Art Creations Friday Challenge

I thought the image looked like a teacher from the olden days, maybe in a one-room schoolhouse. She looks like she's had a hard day. Maybe one of those older kids has been giving her trouble. The challenge for ACF this week is an interesting image.
In case it isn't obvious, that's a slate blackboard behind her.

One Stop Oriental and Sketch Saturday

Using the sketch provided by Sketch Saturday, I have made a card using the Asian theme called for in the One Stop Challenge. I used a postcard from Japan and a Christmas card from a Japanese man who lives in the US. I didn't want to destroy or use the originals so I did this digitally. Believe me, it was no easy task.

Rainbow Lady - Scene

The challenge for Rainbow Lady this week is to make a scene and give the scene a title.

I took the photo of my backyard, the photo of a relative, and the photo of another relative and have made a scene digitally from them. (They aren't really mother and daughter.) This ATC is my first entry for the challenges at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog.

Art Creations Friday Challenge

What a lovely little girl we have been given as an image to work with this week for ACF! I gave her a bit of color and put her with my brayered background, which I had stored in my computer till I found a use for it. This is a simple piece, but I love the soft colors in it.

Artarazzi Me, Myself, I

Me, Myself, and I is the theme for Artarazzi this week. Here I sit in my little pink dress. No, I did not wear lipstick at 13 months. My mother liked to tint photographs with transparent oil paints made especially for that purpose. Looks like she went overboard on the lips. The bunny and the background are borrowed from Dover Publications.

Colour Create #2 Peach and Aqua

The colors of peach and aqua are the theme for Colour Create this week. The aqua was made using Moon Glow spray. The peach colors were also done with Moon Glow products, a daubber. The peach ribbon is shiny and has some gold threads. The feather is on the pink side of peach.

Tuesday's Challenges

Four different challenges seemed like they just went together this week, so I have made this collage using a travel brochure (printed matter for Paper Minutes), postage stamps (Crazy Amigo Challenge), flowers (Artygirlz), and gold (Created by Hand).

The Belgian stamps were sent to me by Nathalie's mother. The Belgian brochure was a freebie in the mail. The flower came from a greetings card, and the gold/green background was made by me using various Moon Glow products. In addition I dropped a little gold embossing on the center of the flower, just in case, the gold in the background didn't show up.

Sunday Gothic Arches - Hearts

I'm trying to use pictures that aren't copyright protected. I know that my own are ok to use.

That said, here is my entry for Gothic Arches - Hearts.

I know this looks simple, but it took forever for me to meld all these layers and cut around the images.

Triple Challenges

Using the sketch from Sketch Saturday, I noticed that the center part was a circle, the theme for One Stop Craft Challenge this week. That's 2. I remembered that Saturday's Workout was having artists use UTEE so I decided to do my circle using the cracked glass technique. My green background is the distressed gesso piece I did about a week ago. The circle with the stamped dragonfly is the same paper. I did about 4 layers of UTEE and embossing it each time. Then I put the circle in the freezer for about 30 minutes. When it was cold I pressed on it to crack the surface. I rubbed a little brown ink into the cracks.

Artarazzi #9

Here is my entry to Saturday's Artarazzi. The beautiful fashion model image was provided for us by Takeabreak (Flickr) from Art of Costume Design Vintage Magazine. All the other images including the background are freebies from Dover Publications. I have changed some of the colors.

Art Creations Friday Challenge

For the Art Creations Friday Challenge, I took the entry from yesterdays' Borders, changed the colors of the curtain and window, and superimposed the ACF image on it.

Paper Minutes - at least 3 inchies

Paper Minutes' theme is to use at least 3 inchies in our art work. I've been getting cards ready for Valentine's Day and had some of these scraps lying around. The red background was some paper spread out on my desk to protect it. The two end inchies are red ink stamped on cardstock. The center one is a Hearts in Touch stamp.

Crazy Amigo - Shoes

See other entries for the Crazy Amigo challenge. All images are from Graphics Fairy.

CBH and Arty Girlz

Robert Burns wrote: My luve's like a red, red rose. For my Created By Hand and Arty Girlz challenges entry, I have made this red and white card with the Americanized "My love is like a red, red rose."

Colour Create Pink, Green, Brown

A new challenge has been created for Sunday. Colour Create is offering its first challenge today: to make an art piece using the colors of pink, green and brown. I am using a background I received in a double print background swap. The artist was Max, but I don't know Max's link. The green is a piece of double sided card stock (the other side is yellow). The image is one that I altered digitally for another challenge. This is an ATC (2.5x3.5")

Gothic Arches-tag

Gothic Arches theme this week is to make an arch incorporating a tag. Here is my tag I used earlier in the week which I have now turned into an arch.
