Created by Hand - circles and dots
Created by Hand's theme is Circles and Dots. I used lots of different bottle caps to make the circles on the card stock and embossed them with gold and blue embossing powders. I used a strip of sequin waste and gesso. The music and roses were addeded digitally. I think the dog comes from Dover.

Three in One Entry
Here is my tag for Tag Tuesday (Arbor Day) and for Paper Minutes (olive green, cream, and rose), and for Created by Hand (ribbons). Normally I try to avoid doing multiple challenges with one entry because I end up not doing justice to any of the challenges. However, all three fit in so well that I hope this is ok.

Winter Scene - Shades of Blue
Created by Hand's challenge this week is to do use a winter scene with shades of blue. I did this very quick watercolor of the sky and snow. The trees are stamped in StaZon; the grass was added by me in black pen.

Tag Tuesday - Created by Hand
This tag is for Created by Hand - Stencils/Inventions and for Tag Tuesday - Winter. I used the a brass stencil to dry emboss the snowflake design. The 3 small snowflakes were punched out from the background paper and glued to the foreground.

Tag Tuesday - Created by Hand
This tag is for two challenges:
Tag Tuesday - a bit of fabric
Created by Hand - glitter/snow
The background is alcohol inks on a piece of shirt box cardboard.
The snowflakes are stamped in clear ink and embossed with white powder, and then they were embossed with angel wings e.p.
The penguin is a snippet from leftover fabric from some curtains I made for my granddaughter.

Thanks - Red and Green
Paper Minutes wants us to use red and green but not Christmasy. Here is my very simple version of the theme (very busy day ahead of me).
This also works for Created by Hand: thanks.

Created by Hand - Yellow-Welcome
This collage was made for Created by Hand challenge where the theme is Yellow/Welcome.
Where I live, the pineapple is the symbol of hospitality or welcome so I chose the pineapple as a start. This suggested to me Hawaii and the beaches there, so my welcome collage has a bit of aloha-welcome to it.

Insects - Things with Wings
This looked like a perfect opportunity to create a 2-in-1 entry to challenges.
Crazy Amigo Challenge's theme is Insects; Created by Hand Challenge's theme is Things that Fly.
My background is a shirt board that I sprayed with some homemade mica mists and some of the Moon Glow mists.

Valentine and Arrow
My entry to Created by Hand (Valentines) and Crazy Amigos (Arrows) is shown here. Today with all the snow outside, I decided to just mess around in my art room. I put some acrylic paints and acrylic varnish down on freezer paper and dropped various pieces of paper and card stocks onto it. When the paints began to dry out I sprayed them with some home-made glimmer mists and kept making backgrounds. This is one of the backgrounds that resulted.
The stamps in the background are See D's Hearts and Love #50203. The stamp of the couple is from Hearts in Touch's Lovely Couples set.

Paper Minutes & Created by Hand
With all this snow on the ground, I am ready for spring to come. So I decided to do a springlike entry for Paper Minutes (triangle) and Created by Hand Challenge (anything but square or rectangle).
I started with a dark green Bazzill card stock and randomly placed two-sided green floral foil over the surface. I placed 3 ribbons on that. Next I colored with watercolor pencils a bunch of tulips I had stamped. I finished the tulips by clear embossing them.

Created by Hand - Gift Box
My creation for this challenge is a box like the McDonald's french fries containers. I took a green Bazzill cardstock and cut it to shape using a template. I edged the top curves front and back with gold embossing powders. Then I used Stampendous' Kaleidoscope embossing powder over the front and back faces, rendering the surface an iridescent blue. The rose is gold embossed. Other containers can be found at Created by Hand.

Winter Snowflake Tag
Making snowflakes from a scratch is not easy. I see why every snowflake is an original. I had trouble just making each point look somewhat alike. Winter is the theme for Crazy Amigo Challenge; Snowflakes is the theme for Created by Hand Challenge; and Different Shaped Tag is the theme for Tag Tuesday. I used Stampin'Up Heat and Stick powder and Stampendous CrystalSnow.

Created by Hand - Harvest
The theme for Created by Hand is harvest. I thought of the watercolor I had done of a farm in the harvesttime. I used a copy of it and put an image of a depression woman and her children and a few extras.

Created by Hand -Back to School
Back to School is the theme for CBH challenge this week. This 4x4 has a typewriter stamp (SU), a picture from an old magazine, and various words I wrote. The background was made by spraying mica mists onto my work surface and then laying the card stock face down onto it. I like this picture because the kids look like they are enjoying school.A posterized rendition of this can be seen on my Adventures in Art blog.

Created by Hand - Summer
This paper collage was done on some cheap watercolor paper that I had dabbed glimmer mists on with a sea sponge. The various summer scenes are some I got out of a magazine. The bee and the shells are stamps my son found on ebay and bought for me. Created by Hand has other entries in its theme of summer.

Roma and Postage Stamps

This postcard was done for two challenges today:Paper Minutes - cities and Created by Hand. - postage stamps. This is a paper collage, but I didn't like the colors that it had. So I have digitally made the postcard sepia.

Created by Hand - Easter

Easter or Easter eggs is the theme for Created by Hand this week. I decided that I would make a collage with the art from my great grandmother's half sister (copies, not the originals!) from the late 1800s. Belle Reid was unique. She loved to do watercoloring and was not bad except when she tried to paint birds. Every holiday and big event in her family's life was an occasion to write a little poem and to decorate the poem/card with her painting. I have a number of these small cards. She also loved Robert Burns and had Sunday afternoon tea parties where she and her friends would read Burns' works. But that's another story....
