Created by Hand - Summer

This paper collage was done on some cheap watercolor paper that I had dabbed glimmer mists on with a sea sponge. The various summer scenes are some I got out of a magazine. The bee and the shells are stamps my son found on ebay and bought for me. Created by Hand has other entries in its theme of summer.

Gothic Arches - wings

I used my background of Moon glow mists and alcohol ink mists for the Gothic Arches entry. Wings is the theme. I used some Dover images that have wings.

Artarazzi - Sunflower

Here is a copy of my watercolor painting of a sunflower that I have used to make a digital art piece for Artarazzi. I have used the Dover background and the Dover letter S. I am so honored to be asked to provide the theme this week. Hope you have fun with my sunflower.

Art Creations Friday

I thought this beautiful lady image from the Art Creations Friday challenge looked like an advertisement. So I made her into a poster image, using a filter with Photoshop Elements. The background is one that I created using some cuttlebug embossing folders onto my glimmermist sprayed cardstock.

Paper Minutes - little plastic bag

I printed some flourishes on a tiny plastic ATC cover using Stazon and placed it over one of my small watercolor flowers. The theme for Paper Minutes is to use a plastic bag somewhere.

Emboss Resist - SaWo

Saturday's Workout has a real challenge this week. We are to use an emboss resist technique. I used the technique that used acrylics paint, clear ink and clear embossing powder. There is a workshop HERE that shows how to do emboss resists. The white background is what was left by the embossing on the protecting white paper when ironed. It looked too good to throw out. The green card is another resist embossing using acrylics paint on card stock, embossed with clear ink and powder and ironed. I am using one of Jamie's freebies. Thanks, Jamie. Art Creations Friday and Secrets

This week's theme for TGIF is Secrets. Using the background given by Arts Creations Friday and a black and white photo of my paternal grandmother and her best pal, I've made this for both challenges.

Colour Create

Colour Create gave us a choice of three colors from an array of fruit colors. In the top card I have used tangerine, kiwi, and blackberry. In the lower one I have chosen tangerine, raspberry,  and kiwi, with a touch of blackberry. Both backgrounds were made on watercolor paper using handmade mixtures of PearlEx powders, reinkers, and hairspray (fixative) dabbed on with a sea sponge. The mouse is stamped on a piece of decorative paper. The lower one also has some Moon Glow starburst colors.

Tag It On! - Simplicity

Here is a little tag I made using watercolors this morning. I draw this flower often because it is so simple. The stamp I used is "Dream". The theme of TIO this week is Simplicity and Serenity.

Artarazzi

I took the body from the image given us by Artarazzi and gave her a dress and a new face. The background is from Dover Publications. The face is from another challenge.

Art Creations Friday - cherish

This interesting background was the challenge for Art Creations Friday. I printed it out on photo paper but my Epson printer gave it a greenish hue. I decided to just go vintage with sepia with this lovely couple I found in a magazine. The flower is something colorful I made from magazine pages. Believe me, it looks best in sepia.

Theme Thursday - flourishes

In the last few entries to challenges on both my blogs, I have used flourish stamps from Purple Onion and from All Night Media. Today the theme for Theme Thursday is Flourishes. I made this ATC on hot press watercolor paper using my Derwent watercolor pencils. I mixed some of my turquoise PearlEx powders into an almost empty spray bottle of Moon Glow's Gossamer Gold, added the hot water, shook and sprayed over the watercolor background. Next I stamped in blue distress ink my raindrops. Next was my swirly butterfly, which is almost a flourish in itself. Then I added my real flourishes.  After dabbing the blue distress ink around the edge, I mounted it on a piece of flourishes background paper by Studio D. I think it will make a pretty greetings card when I put the entire thing onto some card stock.

Paper Minutes - arch

My entry for Paper Minutes (theme of arch) is done on hot press watercolor paper. I used my watercolor crayons for the background. Next I decorated the background with Lumiere paints. The flower was hand drawn and painted with Lumiere paints. This was a fun arch. I got to use some gold stars that were attached to gold wire. This was given to me, but I had no idea how to use it.

Lace - MMM

Mixed Media Monday has as its theme this week: Lace. I immediately thought of those old-fashioned traditional wedding gowns. I found this bride with her lacy gown on the Graphics Fairy website. The gentleman is really one of my ancestors. This is a digital piece. To see the lace better, please click on the picture.

One Stop Craft Challenge

Embossing, either dry or heated, is the theme for One Stop this week. I chose to use my Cuttlebug embossing folder, which I roll through my pasta machine. The blue ribbon is a scrap from my stash. My image is one of my newest stamps from Stubby Stampers.

Artarazzi

Artarazzi presented us the challenge of using this darling little weeping girl. Since I was placing her away from the beach, I made her attire a tad more modest. Here is my Little Lost Lass.

The castle is one of the Dover posters that I altered a bit.

TGIF - ACF

This charming little girl's face was given us by Art Creations Friday. TGIF has as a theme: Dream. So I have combined the two into this one digital 4x4, using a background, a body, and the butterflies from Dover Publications.

TIO - Butterflies - Dragonflies

This tag was made using an old Christmas card, an angel image from another challenge, and my tiny butterfly stamp. The theme for Tag it on is butterflies and dragonflies.
