Hats - TT

Hats is the theme over at Theme Thursday this week. I thought of my ancestor Sallie Rhea, who probably never left the state of Tennessee. She is shown here in her gorgeous hat.  I borrowed this lovely Monet painting from Dover Publications for a backdrop. This is a digital 4x4.

Artarazzi

This beautiful painting, Girl with a Nest, by Charles Joshua Chaplin (1825-1891) was the image given by Femmy for us to use to create our digital art this week for Artarazzi. The image was so lovely that I didn't want to do much with her.  So I just changed the background and what was in her hand. I also used a gradient to change the look a little. The background was from  Dover Publications.

Art Creations Friday - Cowgirl

Hey, I'm on a roll! This is my third tag this week, trying to practice up for Frankie's new challenge blog. This tag is for ACF and we were furnished with this delightful little cowgirl. I decided she needed Annie Oakley to back her up so I found a picture of an old poster. My green background is glimmer mist. My Annie Oakley redhead has a piece of mica behind her.

Rainbow Lady'sChallenge - "B"

Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog has as its theme this week, the letter "B". I have made a tag using my new stamp of the little girl reading a book. My B is for Book Worm.

The background is made from several glimmer mists, some of which were hand mixed.

Tag It On - Blossom

Well, here is my second tag ever, I think. Frankie is starting a new tag challenge, called Tag It On or TIO. Next week will be the official start, but she is allowing us to "practice" this week with the theme, Blossom.

My tag was cardstock that I covered with some green glimmer mist and interference gold PearlEx. The rose is from Dover Publications. I used a bit of dyed gauze and some ribbons.

Black, Green and Aqua

Using the three colors: black, green and aqua is the theme for the Paper Minutes challenge this week. I am using my new stamp from I Brake for Stamps. They special ordered this beautiful stamp from Stampinback for me after I saw it in one of Femmy's posts.

Awards

This lovely Renee award was given to me by Lynn S. The Renee Award was created by Bella (bellasinclair.blogspot.com) and Ces (cesandherdishes.blogspot.com) who wanted to show appreciation of the impact their friend Renee made on their lives.

This award is meant, according to Bella, to be given to those that, like Renee, are like "the acorn, a small package becoming a tall and sturdy oak giving more acorns, becoming tall and sturdy oaks, giving acorns…".

In Celtic mythology, the oak was the tree of doors, a gateway between worlds. I love that I have had so many sweet people to help open the door to art and to guide me into the world of creativity!

So, I am passing this on to other artists that have inspired me with their art and their kindness in my growth as a papercrafting artist. I am sending it on to Saila, Karen, and Kimmie. It's supposed to be sent to 7, but I'm stopping at these 3.

This other lovely award was given to me by Aino.

One Stop -Decorative Cuts in a Gothic Arch

Today I am using the image of Mrs. Sallie Rhea, one of my ancestors. Don't you just love the hat?

 

The arch on the left is done on a piece of dotted scrapbook paper that I sent through the cuttlebug in the Swiss Dots folder. The house is handcut from a sheet of paper I had misted with numerous glimmer mists and Moon glow products. Sallie is a transfer I did.

The arch on the right is done on glossy card stock that has had alcohol inks sprayed on it. I also did a bit of stamping with Purple Onion Designs stamps. The house is handcut from a card stock that I had used alcohol inks on and then run through the cuttlebug in a beautiful small folder. Sallie is a printed copy.

Gothic Arches' theme this week is Home is where the heart is. I figure Sallie was the heart of her home. One Stop's theme this week is Decorative Cuts. both pieces have a bit of gold trim from a gold Sharpie.

Artarazzi

A teary image was given us for Artarazzi. Instead of having her in a fit of depression, I have made her sad for someone else. I used one of Dover Publication's angel images and placed the Artarazzi face on her.

Paper Minutes and Crazy Amigo

This is a double challenge entry. The layout design is the sketch provided by Paper Minutes. The theme for Crazy Amigo challenge is Nature. Using this cute, fuzzy bird  for my nature image, I have made a birthday card. The text says: "A little bird told me that it was your birthday."

Art Creations Friday - Easter

This was a lovely vintage image given to us by Art Creations Friday with a girl and a basket of enormous (emu???) eggs. I chose to put a Dover bunny or two in the basket and put her in a Graphics Fairy frame.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Danglers

I couldn't remember if the Rainbow Lady's challenge entries had to be cards or not, but this one does have paper on it. The little cube is one that I made at Christmastime. I made dangley decorations for all the ladies in my Bible study class. This is one I have altered a bit adding ribbons. The beads are some I made from strips of rolled up magazine pages and then sealed. Go visit the other danglers at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog.

Paper Minutes - Things that Fly

The theme for Paper Minutes is: something that flies.  My background for this skinny (3x5) started out as the back of a Christmas card. I used Starburst moonglow purple to make the purple bursts of color. For the green I dropped alcohol ink and blew air through a straw. There are other glimmer mists and washes on here as well. This is only one-half of the card. I made another 3x5 for another challenge, using a similar background.

Gothic Arches - Open Theme

In celebration of Palm Sunday I have made this arch using some googled palms and a beautiful image that I have used thanks to  Nan's freebies. 

The background is one that I created over the top of a failed transfer to glossy cardstock. I used lots of glimmer mists and a tad of gesso. I scanned it to the desktop and created this arch digitally.

This week there is no set theme for Gothic Arches.

Artarazzi - sea gull

I guess this isn't too imaginative, but I just can't get going today. I've used the wonderful sea gull image that Artarazzi provided this week along with a freebie ship image from Dover Publications to make this piece. I stirred up the clouds a bit and removed the land in the distance.

Art Creations Friday - Bear

Art Creations Friday Challenge has given us this delightful teddy bear image to work with this week. Last night I loaded some lovely freebie images from Graphics Fairy onto my computer for use in the challenges. All my images here, except for the bear, are thanks to GF.  

Rainbow Lady - Hands

The theme for Rainbow Lady's Challenge this week is Hands. I hope this isn't too far off. After all the gloves wouldn't have any shape without the hands inside them. All images are freebies from Dover Publications.

Theme Thursday - Paris

Theme Thursday's challenge is Paris this week. I have nothing in my stash that says Paris, so I had to go to Google. This is a digital ATC collage.
