Art for Bazaar

These are the paintings I have done to donate to the November bazaar that our church is having. The one I finished this week is the top left. This is my entry for Paint Party Friday.

PDCC Bookmark

I usually don't enter challenges that have a hundred or so entries because that's just too many to try to visit all. But today I loved the colors for the Play Date Cafe Challenge. They look so Christmasy to me - evergreen, olive, smoke, and cherry blossom. I need to make about 50 more bookmarks to sell for the church Christmas bazaar. One down, 49 to go!!!

Using "Toppers"

My sister sent me some "toppers" to decorate cards with. I had never heard of them till I saw one on her blog. The black parts are resistant to water based colors. I colored this one with watercolors and tried to make the background look like old newspaper. My topper is mounted on purple cardstock. It was lots of fun to use her gift.

Edit: The name of the product is Ebony Color Me Lace Card Toppers by Hot Off the Press, Inc.

A Card for the Bazaar

Each November our church has a bazaar, a fundraiser for church projects and missions. For several years now I have been making cards and bookmarks, which I sell at the bazaar and donate the money to the bazaar funds. This is one of the latest. I will probably be showing off my handiwork more as the date gets closer. The background was made by spritzing real maple leaves with inks and pressing them onto watercolor paper. The stamps I used are by Stampin' Up. I think the leaf punch was Fiskar.

Take a Word - Tattered

Here is my entry for Take a Word challenge - Tattered. The background was heat embossed in white, sprayed with various inks and then dry embossed in a Cuttlebug folder. I tattered the bit of ribbon and the edges of the background. The photo was sent to me in a RAK package a couple of years ago. I have this adhered to a cardstock and I'm trying to figure out how to use it as a greetings card. Maybe a birthday card with some sort of humorous text inside???

Phone Doodling

Something happens when I'm on the phone and happen to have a pen or pencil in my hand. I can't explain it. I end up with doodles, usually flowers or eyes or faces. Here is one I did tonight when a friend about 1000 miles away called me. Later I colored it with pencils.

Paper Minutes

This ATC is my entry to the Paper Minutes challenge. I have used a lime green background which I ran through a Stampin' Up folder in my Sizzix. I used Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Up ink and rolled it over the butterflies and the background. The butterflies were gifts from Merrie Hogle.

Paint Party Friday

Here is my hummingbird done in water soluble oils. It took some getting used to, because I found the paints didn’t stay fluid as long as regular oils. After reading entries online, I learned that most artists using this medium extend it with linseed, safflower or other oil, not water. Once I did that I found I could add regular oil paint to the mixture with pretty much success. To view the WIP of the hummingbird, go HERE.

The sunrise canvas is a WIP. I will show the finished product next week.
This is my entry for Paint Party Friday. I am seriously considering making this Blogspot blog my ONLY blog, but keeping my Wordpress one open for viewing past art entries. Making comments on artists' works on Blogspot using the Wordpress i.d. is cumbersome.

The 3 Muses - doors and windows

My digital 6" square was made using bits and pieces from various artists. The beautiful stained glass window comes from Dover Publications' freebies. The gorgeous background is one from Hermine's Art Creations Friday, a challenge that ended last year. The lovely stone angel is part of a photo that Patty took in San Juan. I added a digi brush I had created from a photo.

I am entering this in the Three Muses challenge.
