Watercolors this week

This week has been a busy one with house maintenance so my
art time has been less than normal.  I visited the Frugal Crafter,
and I tried her video tutorial on painting a hibiscus. Here are
my three attempts using watercolors and Strathmore (first 2)
and Canson watercolor paper (third one). This is my entry
for Paint Party Friday.

And a spread from my altered book:
This says: We will be known forever by the tracks we leave.
This is an old native American saying. I tried to show
tracks in several areas of these pages.

Hibiscus

Here is what I did while watching the Frugal Crafter
video tonight. She talks and films at double speed so
I really couldn't keep up. I had to keep pausing the video.
Anyway, it is a poor imitation of her lovely hibiscus,
but I think even my rendition has some merit.

Just some old stuff...

I have so much going on right now that I haven't had much
time to do more than a couple of altered book pages. I will
try to show them in a week or two. In the meanwhile, I am
not joining the party this week and probably not next week.

If you have come by, please leave a comment and I will
visit you. I am rerunning some paintings I made earlier so
you will have something to look at here this week.

Happy PPF (even though I am missing all the fun).

Two More Pages

This one says: No act of kindness no matter how small
is ever wasted. Aesop

This one says: Life is always now. Tennessee Williams

The only other painting I have done this week was on a  couple
of styrofoam sheets each about 3.5'x8'. My artist friend Pat and I
were asked to paint a snow covered mountain to be used in our
church's vacation bible school. The scene was so big we had to
paint some of the mountain on one and some on the second one.
We think the mountain looks great and we hope the people who
asked us to do it will think it looks good too. I will try to take a
picture of it Sunday so I can post it next week. These two pages
from my altered book are my Paint Party Friday entries for this week.
The stencils used on the lower one are by Stencil Girl.

New Pages and Irises

Here are two more pages for my altered book.
Most of my painting this week was repainting the deck!

These are my entries for PPF. The heart and the face stencils are by Stencil Girl.

Here are some irises I have in my yard. The bulbs
came from Sutton's Iris Gardens in California.
