Rainbow Lady - Your Choice
I did this painting last night in front of the TV using my set of Distress Ink pads and a cup of water and a brush. I was amazed at how the ink acted with the paper. Not good. Anyway, I made the painting for Paint Party Friday, but I have made it into a New Year's greeting card for Rainbow Lady's Challenge.

Take a Word - Print
Here is my entry for Take a Word challenge - Print. I have used as my background Nicecrane's Children's Tales. The twins in the foreground are from a stamp I got from Stubby Stamper. I stamped it and colored it with watercolor pencils and scanned it to my computer to use over and over.
The blurriness of this entry makes me seasick. I hope no one else is so affected. (Maybe I'm just still suffering from overeating yesterday and today!)

Art Cards - Tapestry Technique
The technique for this card was FUN, F UN, FUN!! My card is for the challenge: Artekarten, where links to this technique (tapestry) are given.
I used Distress Inks, Stampin' Up Whisper White ink, clear embossing powder, a text stamp, and a hand-cut foam stamp. I am sending this as a birthday card to a friend who is in a nursing home.

Rainbow Lady - angels
Rainbow Lady's theme this week is angels. This beautiful angel stamp was given to me by Laura, my friend who does crafts with me at the nursing home. I have embossed it in copper e.p., also a gift from Laura. The background is paper that I have sprayed with several colors of Moon Shadow mists.

Joy to the World!
Here is my ATC for Think Monday Think ATC (script) and for Take a Word (Joy).
My background is one I got from Dezinaworld. The angel is a digital stamp I made from a Dover image. This was made to the 2.5x3.5 inch size.
"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great JOY that will be to all people." Luke 2:10

Rainbow Lady - Christmas Carols
For Rainbow Lady's challenge this week (Christmas carols) I have made this card with a photo of my hand-painted crèche. My sister did the woodworking and I did the painting.
This is "Away in a Manger."
My second card is also a photo of a crèche. This one is also hand made but came from Germany in the 1970s. It was the first one the artist, a young teenager, had ever made. I wish I knew her name. If anyone recognizes the work, please let me know. The little metal horse is an antique and not part of the original set.
This is "O Holy Night".

TMTA - children
This morning I did this little sketch. It turned out to be 2.5 inches wide, but the original is the full figure and goes to about 5.5 inches long. I hope it's ok for the Think Monday Think ATCs challenge that I copied this and whacked off about 2 inches so that it is the 2.5x3.5 inch ATC size.

Think Monday Think ATCs - Forever
We often use the word "forever" for the stretch of time when we are waiting for something to occur.
This ATC for Think Monday Think ATCs represents my view of forever, eternity, (ewig). To tell the truth, it is impossible to wrap our minds around the idea of the eternal. It's one of those things we take on faith (or don't). I choose to believe in an everlasting God in heaven, even though my mind cannot completely comprehend.
My background is distress inks rubbed on glossy cardstock and over-stamped with the same inks using Stampin' Up stamps. The angel is one my dear friend Laura gave me. It is Inkadinkadoo stamped in StaZon.

Rainbow Lady #178 - Princettia
The theme this week for Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog is to use pink or green and the inspiration picture is of a pink hybrid called Princettia.
I have had pink poincettias before. This, however, is a "horse of a different color," a newly developed flower to raise awareness for the breast cancer cure cause.
This is a digital card. I have used Dezinaworld backgrounds as well as part of the photo of the Princettia.

Think Monday Think ATCs - Black Cat
This is my entry for TMTA (black cats). My ATC background is ordinary cardstock painted with my new artist quality watercolor Hooker's green. On top of that is some handmade Pearlex glitter spray of green and yellow. Then I rolled the brayer over clear ink pad and inked up one side of a Cuttlebug folder (has birds. I thought the cat needed some fun). When I sprinkled the fine gold embossing powder, it didn't go where I thought it would, but just the opposite. Anyway, here it is. Cat is googled.

Poppies for Remembrance - Rainbow Lady's Challenge
Some of you may have seen my watercolor painting of the single poppy. I gave away the card it was on but I have the image on my computer so I am able to keep using it.
Rainbow Lady's challenge this week is to use poppies in our work. Check out all the entries to this challenge HERE.
Tonight I finished off another poppy watercolor that I started this afternoon. It is on a 9x12" watercolor paper. I think I need to add a background to it. You can see the new one HERE.

Tag it On - Transportation
For this tag, my entry to Tag it On, I have used Bazzill cardstock and have punched the corners with a Martha Stewart punch. The background is ordinary cardstock that I have misted with homemade shimmery mist along with some from Moonglow. The old car came from a magazine. The woman feeding chickens is one of my dh's ancestors. The stamps I used are from Stampin' Up and Purple Onion and are heat embossed with fine gold embossing powder. Helen chose this theme of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

For the So Artful Challenge this week we were given a couple of angels images to use in our entries. I chose the Warsaw angel. Artekarten - Postage Stamp People
For Art Cards I am entering this ATC with a Canadian postage stamp. The body is of my mother's first cousin. The background is done with the broken glass technique.
I went back and watched the video. I see that I have made mine backwards!!! There is no way on the challenge to delete an entry. So just forgive my ignorance and I will do better next time.
Below is how a Postage Person is supposed to look: the stamp is on the top, not underneath.

Rainbow Lady's Silver
Cynthia and her husband are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary so she has chosen silver as the theme for Rainbow Lady's Challenge.
The silver rectangle that says: on your special day and the square which has a swirly design are an RAK from Frankie. The butterfly is actually a silver filigree pin. Silver does not show up well on my camera. I really wish the swirly pattern showed up. It's really neat.

Rainbow Lady - falling leaves
It is almost time for the leaves to start falling here on the east coast of the US. We have new grass planted. We don't want the leaves to fall for a few more weeks so the grass can be well established before we have to rake leaves.
The theme for Rainbow Lady's Challenge is Falling Leaves. I used these leaves a few days ago on my other blog. I didn't like that card so I cut the leaves off to use for this card.
