For the Paper Minutes challenge (using acrylic block and distress inks) I am entering this card. I used brick red and worn lipstick pink. I used watercolor pencils and blending pen for the Christmas tree.
My first effort was a total disaster. The colors were fine. I used two greens. However, I failed to spritz enoough water onto the block so the background looked very blotchy and ugly.

Think Monday Think ATCs - garden gate
For TMTA challenge this week the theme is garden gate. I laid some watercolor paper in puddles of distress inks on my craft sheet. I then printed this gate from Dover freebies onto the inked paper and cut the resulting "art" at the 2.5" X 3.5" size.
I chose the reds, pinks, oranges and greens for the inks I used because they look sort of like flowers and trees in the distance.

So Artful Challenge
The challenge for So Artful is Chocolate, Vanilla, and Strawberry. Just perfect for summertime and ice cream lovers. It has been so long since I've indulged that I have forgotten what one of those little cones looks like. And the spoon looks like it has gone through the garbage disposal. Oh well, I think my colors are pretty good.
Take a Word - Butterfly
To make this digital piece I have used a couple of my watercolors plus a scene through my kitchen window. The window had the glass "sun-catcher" stuck onto it. I am entering this in the Take a Word challenge for this week.

Fun with ATCs - Poppy
This is my entry for Fun with ATCs. I used a copy of a watercolor I had made earlier and placed it over a background I made.

Summer Rain - TMTA
Here is my ATC (2.5" x 3.5") for Think Monday Think ATCs. The theme is Summer Rain.
My rain stamp is a 17 year old stamp from Rubber Stampede. My flower punch is from Martha Stewart. My leaf punch is by Fiskar. All the patterned papers are scraps from my stash.

Artekarten - using plastic wrap
For the Art Cards challenge we are using Max Ernst texture with plastic wrap technique.
I found it made such a pretty background that I didn't want to cover it up, so I just added the sentiment.
I started with acrylics paints which I "smushed" with plastic wrap. When that was dry I put some clear embossing ink in areas and embossed with gold.

Play Date Cafe
The challenge for the Play Date Cafe this week is to use the colors: mint, soft yellow, coral, and tulip. I was fortunate in that I found decorative papers in my stash with just those colors.
The background patterned paper was run through the Sizzix using a SU embossing folder.
The top flower is from some wrapping paper I got while on vacation.
The center flower is some glittered soft butter color cardstock.
The lower flower is some patterned paper from a stack I received at Christmas.
I used a cream colored cardstock for the card itself.

Take a Word - Moon
I grew up in the age of Hollywood musicals and loved Doris Day. Here is a studio picture of her (but not from the movie I am featuring). Does anyone else remember the 1953 movie: By the Light of the Silvery Moon? Or the song?
This is my entry for Take a Word this week.

Travel the World
The theme for the One Stop Craft Challenge this week is "Let's Travel Around the World!"
I created the background using white cardstock, Stampin' Up wheel stamp, mica powders and various sprays. The stamp of the small hot air balloon is from an unknown source. The other items on this collage ATC are taken from magazines.

Pecreativ Challenge
For the Pecreativ challenge (blue, another color, ribbon, and button) I am entering this very simple card. It is difficult to get back into crafting after 6 weeks of no blogging.
Edit: I see that I have translated "Band" incorrectly. It is tape, not ribbon. Sorry.

Back in Town
After a month-long, 4500 mile road trip we are back home trying to get back to normal. This is a scene atop Mt. Evans, Colorado. I am not doing much art at present, just a few greetings cards.
