I made this bookmark for my ever-growing supply of handmade bookmarks/tags for my church's fall bazaar. This is number 75.
Because it does have both layers and textures, I am entering it in Theme Thursday's challenge.
The background was spritzed with homemade mica spray. While it was wet, I sprinkled some kaleidoscope embossing powder and I heated it, giving it texture. Using my new McGill flower punch, I made the flower and decided to use the paper it was punched out of as well.

Theme Thursday - Garden
This is my entry for Theme Thursday.
Several years ago I discovered the fun of flower pounding. It’s easy. It’s fun. It’s quick. It’s beautiful. From personal experience I’ve found that it works best if leaves are placed face up on the receiving paper or cardstock and flower petals face down. This is made on some handmade paper that Laura gave me.
To make this one I put down a section of newspaper on the concrete floor of my garage, placed the absorbent paper next, then arranged the leaves face up, covered everything with a paper towel, and gently tapped with a regular hammer where I could see leaves. I lifted the towel, removed the smushed leaves and arranged the flower petals on the same paper, except face down. I replaced the paper towel and gently tapped where I could see petals. I had to reuse some of the flower petals a few times.
I used japanese maple, nandina, barberry, buddleia and basil leaves. I used 2 kinds of petunia petals and 2 kinds of marigold petals.

Theme Thursday - flourishes
Theme Thursday has as its theme this week: flourishes.
I love flourishes and I've used one of the Dover freebies, colored to match my watercolor of blackberry lilies. The combining of the two was done digitally.

Theme Thursday - Vintage Children
My entry for Theme Thursday's challenge "Vintage Children" has a background made using the magazine technique. I learned of this technique from Silvia. It is quite similar to one I saw on Art Techniques, a Yahoo group, done by Sherre.
The lovely vintage miss is from Dezinaworld. The butterfly is a png image I made from a photo of mine.

Theme Thursday - Pattern
Theme Thursday's theme is pattern. Zentangle was mentioned in the description of the challenge. It just happens that last night I made this zentangle while watching TV so I'm entering it for Theme Thursday. I used white gel pen on black cardstock.

Theme Thursday - Think Pink
To honor Breast Cancer Awareness month, this week’s Theme Thursday's theme is “pink”! I am using pink as the main color in my creation this week!
The background was made by spraying Moonglow mists through some lace.

Theme Thursday - Two Things
Two Things. That's the theme for Theme Thursday. My background is a combination of beautiful MoonShadow sprays. My large numeral 2 is hand drawn and cut out. I then painted it with Stampin' Up dark purple reinker and some of the leftover MoonShadow spray that was on my craft sheet. The 2 was then put through 3 layers of UTEE. It looks a bit ragged in the scan, but it looks pretty good close up. I also have a couple of bees from K&Company and a couple of flower punch wastes.

Three Feathers
Theme Thursday has a theme of Three Things this week. Rainbow Lady has a theme of Feathers. So I got out my Rubber Stampede feather stamp and my clear Inkadinkadoo stamps of birds and feathers and made this card.
A note about the bird. I'm not sure whether it is right side up or not. For you who got to see my upside down hot air balloons before I turned the tag around, you know that sometimes I miss. The bird was on the clear plastic sheet 180° from this view. If anyone knows for sure, please leave a comment. I can turn this one 180° very easily. That would make the embossed birdies upside down but they don't really mind.

Children - Theme Thursday
Theme Thursday's challenge this week is to have children in our art.
All my images for this digital 4x4 came from Dover freebies. The girls were part of an ad from Sears. These cute little outfits were around $1.50 each. The girl in orange is really holding a pair of bloomers, a part of the outfit. I put the dog in front to hide the bloomers.

Oranges, Lemons, Vintage Tag
Theme Thursday wants us to make vintage tags. Cynthia at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog has as her theme: oranges and lemons, either the fruit or the colors..
The tag was made with papers from Gibson, Tapestry line. The Love and the Butterfly stamps are from Stampin' Up. I have digitally changed the colors on part of this tag to look more vintage.
The lemons and oranges card was made by using acrylic paint and Moon Glow Starbursts colors for the background. The ribbon is from my stash. The gorgeous flower is from the wonderful package I received from Frankie. See my post of yesterday.

Theme Thursday - Something Round
Something round. That's a theme that could go anywhere: wheels, the sun or moon, coffee cup rings, crop circles, etc. This has one perfectly round button about 1/2 way down on the right hand side. And the metal wire has been curled up so that it is sorta round. To see other art with round things, go look at the neat works at Theme Thursday.
When Stacie came over Tuesday night, we made this collage, sized about 6.5" x 3". It started off as a piece of cardboard that we covered with gesso. We embedded the button and various other items into the gesso. The colors came from superfine glitters and some Moon Shadow mists. When it was dry I put 2 coats of matte acrylic sealer on it so the glitter wouldn't come off. Stacie plans to use it on a greetings card.
Edit: I decided to do another one. The square with all the circles is a digital piece I did. All the images came from Dover Publications.

Theme Thursday

Theme Thursday's challenge is to use animals in our art this week. The first card has a picture of our granddaughter at about 3 years taking her first pony ride.
The second card has a picture of our granddaughter years later loving on our geriatric and now deceased labrador retriever.

Theme Thursday - Bright Colors
Oh, I had fun with this one. Theme Thursday's theme is Bright Colors. Are these bright enough?
My flower is made with various sized heart punches. The small part in the middle is a special kind of flower punch, but everything else is hearts, including the leaves. I used pink card stock for the petals and touched up the edges with distress ink. I used brown kraft paper for the leaves, which I misted with green homemade mica mist. I edged the leaves with a green dye stamp. The sentiment was added digitally.

Theme Thursday - Beauty
The theme for Theme Thursday this week is Beauty. I chose to use this gorgeous image from a former Art Creations Friday challenge. My tag's background is various alcohol inks.
