The background started as a piece of plain paper on which I crumpled waxed paper and ironed. Then I took various homemade Pearl Ex and reinkers mists. I left this background to dry naturally overnight. This is difficult for me because I always want to go right into the next step of creating. Anyway, the background looked like a winter scene so I decided to go with that and find an image of winter fun.

Theme Thursday - Fun
Fun is the theme for this week's Theme Thursday. I used a darling skating couple image from Graphics Fairy and some digital brushes from Brusheezy over my shiny wintry looking background to make this postcard..

Colour Create

Colour Create gave us a choice of three colors from an array of fruit colors. In the top card I have used tangerine, kiwi, and blackberry. In the lower one I have chosen tangerine, raspberry, and kiwi, with a touch of blackberry. Both backgrounds were made on watercolor paper using handmade mixtures of PearlEx powders, reinkers, and hairspray (fixative) dabbed on with a sea sponge. The mouse is stamped on a piece of decorative paper. The lower one also has some Moon Glow starburst colors.

Crazy Amigo - Christmas

One more, and maybe the last, Christmas-themed art challenge. Crazy Amigo has as its theme: Christmas. This is a simple piece, a 3x5 postcard size. I don't have time to do a lot, but I did want to enter one challenge. My background is a cardstock that has run through the pasta machine in a Cuttlebug folder. I then took Stickles on a Qtip and highlighted the embossed areas. The candy
and cookies were a scrap of a decorative plastic bag used for wrapping a gift. The cute penguin is an advertisement. I wish the Stickles showed up better because it really is pretty.
Merry Christmas to all!

More Bandana Art
The bandana technique from SaWo challenge was so much fun that I decided that I would use it again for a background to go with a western postcard. I chose my favorite cowboy, Roy Rogers in the movie: In Old Caliente. I don't actually remember this movie, but I probably saw it. My dad loved westerns and took us to the drive-in movies to see a cowboy show every Saturday night for years.
