Not a new photo, but one that fits this Take a Word challenge - Nature.
We have these blue tailed skinks running around on our deck all the time. I have learned that the adults are all brownish without the gorgeous blue tail.
This is staged. The skink is a fake one I bought at the botanical garden.

Beautiful, Faye, lovely colours of the skink against the stones and blue vase!
ReplyDeleteLove the rich blues, Faye!
ReplyDeleteWell, your store-bought skink might take umbrage at being called a fake!! He looks very really to me. I would love to see one in the flesh as I had no idea that such a colour could be seen in any member of the lizard family. I have bobtail lizards in my garden. They are very loud and noisy when crawling through dried leaves. 18" or more long and very chubby. The worst thing is putting my hand on one when weeding as it is not uncommon to see snakes in these parts.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have framed your little skink, Faye. Beautiful work as always.
You could have said it was real and I never would have known! I love the blue vase with the lizard. Perfect!

ReplyDeleteI've always loved lizards, but I'm glad that one is fake. I don't really like the idea of a lizard running around the house! Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteWhat an odd creature! Thank you for introducing me to blue-tailed skinks, Faye....and in the most beautiful way. That blue bottle is a stunner!
