Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Travel through Time to 2012

Time flies by, doesn't it? Here it is 2012 and so many things have changed in the last 100 years. My entry for Rainbow Lady's Challenge is this digital card I made using my dh's great grandmother feeding her chickens. Raising chickens was an important activity in her time. She probably got to keep any money she got from selling the eggs. Sunday dinner was often one of the flock she had fed on Saturday. (Sorry, vegetarians, but that was the fact of life in the countryside.) I have added a few things to this photo (originally in black and white) such as the cat and the weeds in the foreground.

Think Monday Think ATCs - Glückspilze

I'm not sure how this mushroom fits into New Year's wishes, but that seems to be what the topic is for Think Monday Think ATCs. I suspect it is my not knowing of some European tradition.  I think this translates to lucky mushroom. Anyway, I have used parts of two new scrapbook papers my dh gave me for Christmas as my background for the mushrooms to make my ATC. I think the colors go together very well.

Rainbow Lady - Your Choice

I did this painting last night in front of the TV using my set of Distress Ink pads and a cup of water and a brush. I was amazed at how the ink acted with the paper. Not good. Anyway, I made the painting for Paint Party Friday, but I have made it into a New Year's greeting card for Rainbow Lady's Challenge.

Pecreativ - Anything Goes

For the Pecreativ challenge this week I am entering this simple card I made. To stamp the design I used clear ink pad and copper embossing powder. The red leaf was punched with a Fiscar punch.

Take a Word - Print

Here is my entry for Take a Word challenge - Print. I have used as my background Nicecrane's Children's Tales. The twins in the foreground are from a stamp I got from Stubby Stamper. I stamped it and colored it with watercolor pencils and scanned it to my computer to use over and over.

The blurriness of this entry makes me seasick. I hope no one else is so affected. (Maybe I'm just still suffering from overeating yesterday and today!)

Art Cards - Tapestry Technique

The technique for this card was FUN, F UN, FUN!! My card is for the challenge: Artekarten, where links to this technique (tapestry) are given.

I used Distress Inks, Stampin' Up Whisper White ink, clear embossing powder, a text stamp, and a hand-cut foam stamp. I am sending this as a birthday card to a friend who is in a nursing home.
