Gothic Arches - Cats

I call this ATC Queen Cat. It was done a while back for another

group, but I still own it. Several times I almost gave it away,

but each time I changed my mind because I just love the smug

Mrs. Sallie Rhea

Hats is the theme for the Skinny Saturday and any kind of transfer is the theme for Saturday's Workout challenges. I have used a copy of one of my ancestor's photos and transferred it by using the Sheer Heaven ® and alcohol spray method. I love this method for images since it is virtually foolproof and quick. I haven't mastered it for text yet.

My background is a combination of various Moon Glow mists that I got from Lindy's. At the moment I am using these wonderful mica filled sprays a lot in my work. I love it for backgrounds. Please click on the above links to see other entries in these two challenges.  

Theme Thursday - Romance

The theme for Theme Thursday this week is romance, weddings, etc. Because the romance is still alive after 51 years, I chose to use my own wedding picture. 

A then recent parotid gland surgery had left me with subsequent temporary paralysis of the left side of my face. We had no studio photographs made. The snapshots didn't turn out well either.  But after moving many times, we discovered in the attic a few very red slides of the wedding. I used my Photoshop Elements and rescued this one and a couple of others.

The background of this is an advertising postcard cut to a Skinny size, sprayed and dribbled with alcohol inks. I embossed it with silver powder.

Pastel Travel Tuesday

This Tuesday I am able to combine two challenges,  Crazy Amigo (travel) and Created By Hand (pastel colors), to present this 4 x 4 with pastel colors with a theme travel. Antarctica is not remotely in my travel plans. However, I just got this travel brochure and just had to use it. The background is pale blue cardstock that I have run through the Cuttlebug folder.

SaWo Raster

The technique, Raster, is similar to masking or blocking off a portion of the background. This entry, with the yellowish background,  into the Saturdays Workout challenge shows where I blocked off parts of mine and stamped with gold ink pad. The image is one I doodled the other night while watching TV.

I am trying to rest my painful knee by not going upstairs for a couple of days. Unfortunately, that is where the art room is. I have a small basket of art goodies in the kitchen so my participation in the challenges is somewhat hampered. :-(

OK, so I got brave and scooted upstairs on my seat. I was just itching to try the raster method with my Lindy's Moon Shadow mists. The 4x4, with the reddish background, is what I came up with. The image is from Hearts in Touch stamps. (Somehow the pictures are not in the correct order.)

Pappy and Pals

The theme for Crazy Amigos this week is Oldtimers. Here is my grandfather (driver) in his new 1915 Model T. I'm sure his pals enjoyed getting to ride around with him. 

My background is glossy cardstock misted with the Desert Antique Rose Moon Mists and gesso.

CBH - Black, white, and gray

Sorry for the really simple piece today. This is the day I volunteer at the nursing home so I didn't have a lot of art time. The background is glossy black card stock. I drew the tree with a white gel pen and the image came from Reminisce Magazine. For other Created by Hand challenges, check out here.
