SaWo Stitches

Saturday's Workout this week was a challenge, for sure! Since I don't sew much, I had to be more creative in my methods. I had bought a hand held sewing gadget at a yard sale two weeks ago.  I used it to sew the ribbon to the lamé fabric. The background of this piece is a postcard advertisement, which I put gesso on. Then I sprayed and misted different washes and inks. We called my grandmother "Momee",  but I knew that it would not be clear to anyone that she was my grandmother with that name on my art.

Theme Thursday Woman

Today's challenge is to create an ATC with the theme Woman. I thought this picture of a concert artist was a good image to use. The background is alcohol inks on glossy cardstock. I thought it needed a little more "oomph" in the upper left corner so I applied a little of Colorbox Copper ink. Other entries in this challenge are at Theme Thursday.

TMTA Diptych

Think Monday Think ATCs is to create two ATCs that have some element that continues from one to the other. I used white paper, sprayed it with inks and crumpled it. Then I flattened it and adhered it to cardstock. I hit the tops of the "hills" with rubbing gold and silver. The fish is made of glossy cardstock and alcohol ink with metallics. I overstamped in StazOn using sequin waste as a template. I cut out the fish and pasted it on the blue paper. The overlay is acetate on which the same fish were stamped. The bubbles are Omni-Gel.

Theme Thursday Transportation

Using the theme of Transportation, I found this delightful little fellow in his very own car. I made a collage of images of luggage, maps, mica, and of course, my little guy. Other Theme Thursday fun art works are here.

Saturday's Workout Chalk

The theme chosen for this week's Saturday Workout is "Chalk it, Baby," where we use chalk.
The hummingbird is on  the front of a greetings card I made. For the bird I used a brass template and soft pastel chalks. The leaves and flowers were hand drawn using the same pastels.
Other artwork using all kinds of chalk is at the SW website. I couldn't resist doing another pastel. The top piece is the one I did second.  I used an ATC sized piece of white watercolor paper and tinted it pink, salmon, and tan with pastel chalks. I stamped with Photo Distress ink the image of a young woman. It gives her a peachy look.

Thursday Theme - Girls

This 4x4 features a lovely background on vellum that I received from Judy in Illinois in a RAK package she sent me. The beautiful redhead is my granddaughter as a toddler. I was reminded of the old saying my mother used to repeat: "What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice and everything nice, that's what little girls are made of." Take a peek at the other Girls entries.

Tuesday Created By Hand Fabric

This is an ATC I did earlier using a "flimmer" from Patty. the background is Glossy Accents that has been rubbed with gold. The lavender is watercolors. The cloth on the ATC is a piece of a crocheted doily.  Other entries can be seen at this site.

Saturday's Workout Linen

Saturday's Workout theme this week is Linen. I used a gauze pad to make a linen-like image for the background. The quote is "Taking joy in life is a woman's best cosmetic" by Rosalind Russell.
