Pencil Drawing for this Week for PPF

I found this old woman in a magazine and changed her up a bit for
my work with colored pencils this week. She's not meant to be a
beauty. She looks like she's had a hard life, to me.

Here is how my girl from last week ended up. The first half of the artists
who commented liked the dark background. The second half of the artists
like the light background. I was able to wipe off most of the dark because
that was watercolor. So I am replacing it with a dark gray, not as dark as
the almost black of last week. Also, by cropping it, she is no longer floating.

These are my entries for Paint Party Friday.

So Artful - pink, green and blue

This is a beautiful color combo in my opinion. I have taken a watercolor painting of mine, a purple iris and done some major work in Photoshop Elements to get this hot pink color. I also used the outline filter to set off the flower and leaves. This is for So Artful challenge.

Word Art Wednesday

For Word Art Wednesday (yes, I know today is Saturday) I have used my
Photoshop Elements brushes. I have worked for about 2 hours trying to
import some free brushes from Annika von Holdt, who is a talented
photographer. My new PSE is so much harder to navigate than the
older version I have on the old computer. I am using her Stone Angel
PSE brushes along with the scripture given for this week's WAW.

Colored Pencil Art

While watching TV this week I sketched this young woman in my journal and colored her with my pencils. I discovered that some of my pencils are Prismacolor Verithin and some are Prismacolor Scholar. I'll have to say I like the sharp points of the Verithin, but the Scholar puts down a richer color. You can tell I know nothing about colored pencils. LOL! I thought my girl has a central or south American look about her. On Friday she will be entered into the Paint Party Friday challenge.

Edit: I have copied this sketch and given the copy a darker background. Please let me know if you think the dark background would be better. I can still work with the original.

Art Journal Journey - Landscape

This is a whimsical entry into my art journal. I am not really into whimsey, but this page had a drawing that I did not like.  I covered the background with gesso and applied distress inks with a sponge to the sky and to the grass. The flowers and butterfly are from some gorgeous decorative papers I recently got. This is  my entry to Art Journal Journey, where the theme is the Landscape within Me.
