More Altered Book Pages

Several WIPs and a couple of finished pages.
This is my entry for Paint Party Friday.
This one I used old deli wrap palettes and a pencil drawing.

This one I used black gesso on hand-carved stamps
made from a flip-flop.

This one is some drawings and backgrounds using
acrylic paints and baby wipes.

The page below says: You're blessed when you are at the end of your rope.
With less of you there is more of God and His rule.
Matthew 5  The Message
I am using up some old sketches and adding them to my book.

The page below says: Yesterday's past, Tomorrow's future, but
Today's a gift; that's why it's called the present.
Bil Keane
 Another use of old sketches.

I had to miss Saturday's art class so I can't show you what
all four halves of the cooperative art looks like.
Maybe next week.

Cooperative Art

My Saturday art class did some cooperative art on brown craft paper with acrylics. We split the painted sheet into fourths and each took a piece with the outline of a head on it. I brought my piece home, added stamping, stenciling, outlining, and finished the face/head. Then I found several quotes dealing with beauty to inscribe on it. When we get back together Saturday, we plan to put the four pieces back together (tape on the back, I think) to see what we have created. Sorry I don't have the before picture.
I have added a lot to this. One side was black heavy and I tried to balance that a bit.
This is my entry for Paint Party Friday this week.

Below is one of my altered book  pages. The last time you saw this the girl
was only a black and white sketch. I have painted her with acrylic paints.

Wall Hanging

Acrylics on Canvas

This is the wall hanging I made with the piece of
canvas that my Saturday art class teacher Joanna
gave me to work on several weeks ago.

I did several small watercolors this week that I will
adhere to card stock for greetings cards. Here are a couple
that I finished. Many challenges showed up
lately. Doing art is a welcome respite from those.
I was happy to have my friend Laura over to
play art with me on Wednesday.

Watercolor cards

Here are some watercolor greetings cards I did this week.
This is my entry for Paint Party Friday.
There's a bad storm coming on so I have to
have a very brief posting for the party.

New Curtains and Some Art

I have been busy changing the colors of my kitchen.
Since Day 1 it has been gray, black and white with
bright brass drawer pulls and accessories. I changed
out the pulls with a stainless look and painted over
some of the brass (I know, it is not permanent).
This last week I have been making lined valances
for two sets of windows and the patio door, which
also has canvas roll up shades that I made.

I worked on my canvas wall hanging in class last
Saturday. When I got home I could not stand the
color of the foliage. This is supposed to be a class
project, but I couldn't let another week go by and
have to look at those awful bright kelly green leaves.
So today I got out the acrylic paints and darkened
them. I think they still need work but they are much
better now. I haven't done the background yet but
I am thinking of a pale blue green and pick up the
colors in the flower to blend in.

A Get Well Soon Watercolor Card

Summer is a time of field flowers so I painted
this small piece for a get well card to send to a
friend having serious surgery. I hope it will
cheer her up. This is my PPF entry this week.

Below are the ladies from the Bible study
that I lead. We had a covered dish luncheon
at my house last Thursday. I think the average
of our ages is 80 (my actual age).
The youngest is 74 and the oldest is 89. We
laugh, cry, pray, and study together each week.
I love those "girls".
