Colorized with Photoshop Elements Sketch

This was a pencil sketch done on the back of a

crossword puzzle and took about five minutes.

I cleaned up the sketch and colored it using my

Photoshop Elements (love that program). I'm 

sure this is better than the doodle or the sketch

I did with my left hand earlier in the week!

Watercolor of a Poppy

I didn't do a lot of art in the last week since my friends from

first grade came from Mississippi and Tennessee to visit.

We went to Yorktown VA, where we stayed two nights

in Hornsby House, a beautiful B&B. That was our base for

the three days as we toured Yorktown, Colonial Williamsburg,

and Jamestown. It was lots of fun and I am so appreciative 

of their willingness to come so far for our 80th birthday reunion.

They have had their 80th, but mine comes in October.

This week was post vacation cleanups and visits with my son who

had a bad accident at work, breaking both his fibula and tibia, 

one with a spiral fracture. So this poppy and one other small

watercolor are the extent of my art, with the exception of a few

Phone Doodle and Gift from TFK

This is a phone doodle I made yesterday.

I have spent a lot of time on the phone lately. My son

fell off a ladder at work and fractured both fibula and tibia

in his leg, one of the fractures was spiral. This was one of

the several stress producers lately. Tracey Fletcher King,

one of the funniest bloggers, is also a very compassionate

person and sent me the items below to help cheer me up.

They are arranged digitally so the size proportions are

not correct.  There is a journal she made and it has 

butterflies on it. There is a card with sunflowers and

there is a watercolor painting of tulips. All her work is

so very beautiful and you can see it HERE.

Tracey has been sick on top of her other medical problems

so I am wishing her a speedy recovery.

More Watercolor Posies

Here are two watercolors I made since last Paint Party Friday.

I have non-artist, out of town guests coming. We are having a

reunion  this weekend and next week to celebrate our 80th 

birthdays, having been friends for 75 years. I won't be 

doing any art while they are visiting since we want to

be enjoying our short time together. If you happen to come

by and leave a comment anyway, I'll be sure to get back

with you, but it may be the next week.

Flower Arrangement Revisited

I decided I didn't like the flower arrangement that I did for

April 25, so I have added some sprigs and made the container

a bit smaller. I fussy cut the image out and glued it to 

cardstock so I can send it out as a greeting card. See

Paint Party Friday - May 2

Below are two items I "painted" this week for Paint Party Friday.

I played around with Melt Art Beeswax and Country Lane color

squares (from A. C. Moore's) along with some alcohol inks, distress

inks, and Caran d'Ache Neocolor II water soluble crayons.

I guess I am very conscious of the weather since my family in

Central Arkansas has been dodging tornados. We have also had

some really heavy weather this week.
