Paint Party Friday - more acrylics

This turned out better than I thought. I started this in

the Saturday class and finished it at home. Or maybe

it isn't quite finished. I'll take it with me to the next

class and see. Those weird little white dots are not white

but are silver dauber prints. In real life they aren't as weird

or as prominent. This is my entry for this week's PPF.

The red leaf stamp is one I borrowed from Jo, who had

hand cut it from a rubber eraser.

First Post for PPF 2015

Jo is leading a class in mixed media on Saturdays here in the

Richmond area. Last Saturday I did this acrylics painting on 

some brown craft paper. I am planning to see if we can 

adhere it to a 20" x 24" stretched canvas this next week end.

Here is an attempt of my own that I did at home. It is

acrylics on an 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" piece of mat board.

I think it looks like dancing girls. What do you see?

Bowing out till January

Too much is going on so this will be my last PPF

entry till after the holidays are over. This was made

with several stencils, some home made, and a few stamps.

 I used distress ink pads. The sentiment is done digitally.

Christmas Card for Internet Friends...

This is the eCard that I made to send out this year

to the many internet friends and to friends that I

see often. I am cutting down on the number of

actual cards I am sending out. It had grown to

well over 100 - too many for me to manage.

Please know that even though you may not

have a card in the mail, you have my permission

to copy this off to have at your home if you like.

I may post this again as Christmas draws near.

New Greetings Card

I took the shape of my poppy painting, (see below with green background)
cut it out and made a new painting,which I am using on a large
greetings card. The new (dark) background is one that

I had painted a week or so ago.

And here is a phone doodle that just appeared on my

scratch pad while I was having a conversation with

a friend from the past.

Making New from Old

I took some of the watercolor paintings that didn't sell at the

bazaar, cut them up and made greetings cards.

Acrylics Art - PPF

I know practically zilch about painting with acrylics paints but I wanted to do

something for this week's Paint Party Friday but it is a busy week with somewhere

to go every day except today. So I watched a little of the frugal crafter and decided

to try my hand at tulips. The first one is on pasteboard from a lined tablet. The second

one is on a sheet of paper I had sprayed with homemade glitter sprays. The third

painting is from an old background I had not figured what to do with. I painted off

the shape of a figure with gesso and then applied, inexpertly, the colors for my

Li'l Red Head, which my sister loves and collects. No doubt this will be hers.

Paint Party Friday

I've been busy getting ready for Saturday's bazaar so I didn't do

a lot of new things this week. However, last night I did take a

few of the handmade stencils and proceeded to do this background

using mostly distress inks and a some Glimmer Mists and some stamps.

The circular stencil is the bottom of the bowl from Healthy Choice's

steamed vegetable. The veggies steam in this bowl and get poured

into the lower bowl that has sauce in it. The flower is something I

stamped with various distress inks, cut out and attached to the background.

I can't say enough about Jo's mixed media class at AC Moore on 

Saturdays. I still am not in love with acrylics but the fellowship of

artists is a wonderful experience. Such fun. And we are learning

new techniques to use however our art paths take us.

Here are a couple of quick sketches using  Sharpies. I was pleased

that it had a skin toned color in the pack of 30, but disappointed that

the brown is so dark. I have now discovered that what I thought was

gold is really a nice tan, which I should have used for the shadows.

Most of the colors are really bright, so I couldn't add color to her cheeks.

A friend who is going to help me with my cards and paintings booth on

Saturday helped me today to arrange the cards and such on the table

the church is providing for me to use. It looks pretty good so I hope

lots of the cards will find new homes. I sure don't want to take them

all back home with me.
