Hummingbird

One of the students in my watercolor class brought a
calendar she had created from her photos from her trip
to Ecuador. The photos were all exotic hummingbirds.
We could choose any of the birds to paint. I painted the
Booted Racket-tail hummingbird.
Fridays are so special because I get to go to a really special
art gallery called Paint Party Friday. Since anyone can
view these fantastic works of art, come by and see what
a variety of art works are there. Kristin and Eva are
the hard working hosts of the blog.

    Wow Faye, she is gorgeous and magical. I absolutely love the colors and composition,what a stunning bird. I have never seen a tail like this on a hummingbird, it is so intriguing, deeply beautiful art!

    Stunning work Faye. ..watercolour is truly your best medium! Love the banner too! Reminds me of this farm set toy my cousin had as a child! We loved that toy! I'm sure it was fashioned after a beautiful barn such as this!

    Thank you Faye for your comment on my post-Moose or Reindeer. I had been looking at my piece wondering why it wasn't moose like for several weeks. Sometimes I guess you get too close to something and you can't see the forest from the trees, or in this case the obvious antler position. Wow- that's it. I guess a pair of fresh eyes is always a VERY GOOD thing to have sometimes. Hope you have a fantastic weekend. Hugs-Erika
