This is a botanical illustration I did tonight of a leaf of a codiaeum variegatum pictum, better know as Croton. Botanical illustration is not my favorite type of painting. It is a tedious procedure, whereby layer after layer of thin watercolor is applied. A very small brush is used and it feels a little like paint by numbers painting!!! I worked so hard on this that I am putting it on both blogs.
