This 'n' That Art

Well, I did lose power for overnight on Saturday/Sunday but
my house stayed fairly warm and I just went to bed early.
Wednesday was the first day I could get out of my
driveway. The first few yards out of the garage
were definitely the worst. Here are some photos:

I did do a little art but not much. I am trying to clear
out some of the tons of papers that my dh had kept
from when he was president or chairman of so many
organizations in the community and the church. So
that work has occupied most of my time this week.
These are my entries for Paint Party Friday.

A spread from my altered book.

a greetings card.

a WIP using Silvia's post as an example.
I hope you will click on the link and check
out what a beautiful art piece Silvia (Barnie)
has made using this technique that she'
learned from Rosie Klein's blog, and
especially from the wonderful video by Susanne Rose.

I did not have the powdered pigments (Brushos) and tried
to use some re-inkers. It did not work very well.

Lastly, I saw that followers are decreasing. On a blog I
found the reason why. Here is how to understand what
is happening if your list of followers decreases:

Pages from my altered Book

These pages were done in the Saturday Mixed Media class
taught by Jo at the A. C. Moore store on Patterson Avenue.
I am showing them on Paint Party Friday, hosted by
Kristin and Eva.

We are due to have a gigantic snowstorm
tomorrow through Sunday. If I lose power, I won't be
able to get around to visit until later next week. Oh,
how I hope that storm is not as bad as "they" say it will be!

The above reads: Jennifer, new to city living, felt stressed
when she couldn't find a cab and somewhat anxious about
walking the ten blocks she had to go to get to work.

The above reads: No matter where I wander, no matter where I roam,
No matter where I end up, there's no place like home.

The above reads: shop till you drop.

Paint Party Friday

Showing this week's watercolors. I did go to  Jo's
mixed media class Saturday and worked on my
altered book/journal using acrylics. Maybe I
will have some of those to show next week.
This is for Paint Party Friday, generously
hosted by Eva and Kristin.

Happy New Year to all the PPF artists

Here are a few things I've been working on this week.
I'm checking them in at the Paint Party Friday.
The bromeliad was done watching a video by
the Frugal Crafter.

And today my friend Laura came over and we painted.
Here is what I did on a 7" square scrap of mat board.
Yes, another hibiscus.

and a sunset greetings card…

My Latest Arty Things

As the days roll faster and faster towards the new year
events and activities are beginning to run into each other,
leaving not a whole lot of time for art. I am posting
early and entering this post for Paint Party Friday
coming later in the week. I have no idea if I will
post on my blog again in 2015. Perhaps I can.

First, notice I still have very green grass here in
Virginia. It has been in the 70's F. this week.

Next is a very simple Christmas card that even a
child can make. I thought it turned out really
nice, especially with the glitter glue on it.

Then I used one of my poinsettia paintings and
altered it a little in my Photoshop Elements.

I made some wrapping paper out of painted papers…

Then here are three watercolors I did. The poppies were painted
while watching the frugal crafter's YouTube video. Her photo
came from Paint my Photo site.

This woman was painted using my watercolor teacher's
photo she provided the class with.

The sunflower was done recently in the
watercolor class.

And lastly for those who celebrate Christmas,
here is my wish for you…

Luke 2:14 says:
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace
to men on whom his favor rests.

My Back Yard

My burn bushes are late turning red this year but they
look so gorgeous now, even redder than last year.

Missed you all

I missed the party because I have been sick with sinusitis.
Here is what I made in Monday's watercolor class a week ago.
I am still under the weather with sinusitis and congestion.
I do not feel like doing any art, but I will try to get by
to see who is at the Paint Party Friday.
