29 Faces #3 - The Steelhead Fisherman

I'm out of my element completely here, but I am determined to keep
trying new things. This is a fisherMAN holding his steelhead. This is
no one in particular, but I used a photo taken of a family friend on vacation
in the western part of New York state as my jumping off place. This is my
third face for the 29 Faces Challenge for February 2014. To see all the entries

29 Faces #1

It 's so much fun to create young and beautiful portraits, but I was thinking. There are quite a few of us who aren't in that category any longer. So I decided to try a more mature face for my Face #1 in 29 Faces Challenge. The sketch was a doodle I did while waiting my turn at the Department of Motor Vehicles. I came home and colored it in Photoshop. Click here to see all of the entries in this challenge.

Paint Party Friday

This was a watercolor pencil sketch I made this week while I was watching TV. I have enhanced the colors with Photoshop Elements because I didn't have all my pencils with me and she turned out too pink. Also, I intensified the colors a bit.

Most of you know that I doodle when I am on the phone. This was a black and white sketch I made this week while talking to a friend. I colored the hair with a marker and then finished off the coloring with Photoshop Elements.

I just got off the phone with Jane, a very talkie friend. This is a phone doodle I did while listening. It was done in black ball point pen and colored using Photoshop Elements. This post is my entry for Paint Party Friday.

Paint Party Friday and WAW

This is probably the only painting I will do this week so I am going to go on and post it, although I hope it can be my entry for the Paint Party Friday this week. I started by using Anja's TOS method for the background. Please look at her beautiful work to understand how this is done. Then I stamped on a separate card stock one of my favorite stamps. I used a little distress inks on the background and on the stamped piece. The face was done in watercolor pencils. She looked so sad that I made a caption to suit her unhappy countenance. This is the front of a get well greetings card.

Here is a sketch I made tonight on the back of a crossword puzzle I had run off on the computer. If you look you can see the squares! I colored this using photoshop elements and some of the filters on it.

And  finally, here is my entry for Word Art Wednesday, another of the TOS method collages.

Paint Party Friday - Fun with Watercolor Pencils and Watercolors

I sketched this with watercolor pencils using a "selfie" to draw from.
No, it doesn't really look like me although some parts really do.
Then I went back over it with watercolors from my travel kit.
This is my entry for Paint Party Friday this week.

Paint Party Friday - Jardeniere

Lacking inspiration, I decided to paint what I could see from my easy chair. That object was the jardiniere painted by an ancestor in 1898. I have not done justice to this beautiful piece of art. At that time many ladies got white porcelain china from Bavaria and painted roses and apple blossoms  on various pieces. I inherited this from my mother and it sits atop my mantelpiece. I am entering this in the Paint Party Friday challenge.

Below is a telephone doodle I made. I colored it using Photoshop Elements.
