PPF - Li'l Redhead's Portrait

Li'l Redhead is someone I created when my redheaded granddaughter was a child. Unfortunately, she never looks exactly the same so I am assuming that at different ages, Li'l Redhead looks a bit different. I did this large portrait this week and am entering it in the Paint Party Friday challenge. I may go back and outline it as the other pictures of her are done.

Word Art Wednesday #54

This lovely ballerina is from Graphics Fairy. I thought she looked as if she could be dancing before the LORD. Please click on the image to read the scripture text better.
This entry was made digitally using a doodle I had done and colored and put onto my computer plus a digital copy of a card I had made for another challenge. For some reason I named this girl Becky when I drew her. I believe Becky is very happy and feels like dancing.

These are my entries for Word Art Wednesday, where the theme is Psalm 30: 11-12.

PPF and Artekarten

This abstract of tree leaves against the sky was made using acrylic paints, some of which were shiny with mica. The text is added digitally.  I am entering this in Paint Party Friday.

This second version has hand written script, a part of the poem Trees by Joyce Kilmer and is being entered in Art Cards Challenge.

Fun with ATCs - Fashion

Fun with ATCs theme this week is Fashion. I have used a background I made using gesso and sprays plus a few scraps of texts. The image of Audrey Hepburn is from Dover Publication freebies.

Mandarin Orange Monday #17

These trees are in my front woods, enhanced just a tad with Photoshop Elements. Some years they are actually this vivid. This is my entry for Mandarin Orange Monday.

Metal tape

This was made using metal duct tape. Merrie told me about this method. Her example can be seen on Christian artists.

Tag it On - Butterflies, Motion

Because my stamped and cut out butterfly is 3-D, I had to photograph rather than scan my tag for Tag it On challenge. The challenge is to use self-propelled flowers (butterflies) and motion. The background music is stamped in Distress inks. The background butterflies and flora are sponged Distress inks using a stencil.

Paint Party Friday

Wednesday my former college roommate and long time friend called from Mississippi to see if we had gotten through the hurricane Sandy safe and sound. After I assured her that we were very fortunate and had not even lost power, we began to compare notes about our children and grandchildren.

The longer we talked the more I doodled on a post-it note pad (see doodle above). I was tethered to the kitchen wall phone so my tools were limited. I found a green metallic gel pen, a red Sharpie, a black pen, a pink highlighter marker and a yellow highlighter marker. After we hung up I saw that this was actually pretty good, so I cut it out to enter this week's Paint Party Friday.
