Every fall we get our flu shots so we don't get influenza or at least get a much milder case. So here is a scene from the doctor's waiting room. I sketched someone sitting there waiting. I'm not sure she was there for a shot or not. The tree leaves on the opposing page represent autumn and all the gorgeous golds, oranges, and reds in the fall leaves. This was for Art Journal Journey.

Water cleanup Oils
Using some poppies I painted last week in watercolors as my model, I made this using water soluble oil paints tonight. I am entering it in this week's Paint Party Friday #31.
Edit: It's getting to the end of PPF. I have visited and left comments on 71 blogs. That is truly a record for me. I often visit 45 or 50, but I spent almost the entire day enjoying all this art. What a wonderful treat!

Fun with ATCs - sketch
For the challenge Fun with ATCs I have followed the sketch given pretty closely. I used some decorative paper for the background, green cardstock, some snippets of other decorative paper, and some acetate images given to me for my birthday by my crafting pal Laura. The text is handwritten.

Orange Lily - MOM Challenge
Patty S. gave me permission to do a painting from one of her photographs a year or so ago and I made this watercolor. For the Mandarin Orange Monday I used Photoshop Elements to change the color slightly. The original is slightly redder, which I really think looks a bit better. (see below)

Fall Fearless and Fly
Check out the new button in my sidebar. It's for a new challenge called Fall Fearless and Fly. We can use any medium for our piece. We can use one, two or all the prompts given. The first prompts were:
Headline Prompt: Inventing the Future: Where do you want to be 5, 10, 15 years from now. What's holding you back? What's propelling you forward? What do you need to do or stop doing to create your future?
Color Prompt: Warm colors (reds, oranges, pinks, yellows)
Quote Prompt: "The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time." Abraham Lincoln
Color Prompt: Warm colors (reds, oranges, pinks, yellows)
Quote Prompt: "The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time." Abraham Lincoln
At 78 I hope to be around for all 15 of these years, not only JUST around, but also actively doing art and serving the Lord. Keeping busy and healthy is important for that to take place. This watercolor is surrounded by scripture from Psalm 46. (Sorry, I accidentally reversed "refuge" and "strength".)

Oil Painting on Canvas Board
Here is my painting for this week. I realized tonight that I had not done any painting this week I used my water soluble oil paints on a canvas board. I realize this isn't a fine art work, but it sure felt good to do oil painting again. I am entering this in Paint Party Friday.
