Snow!

There are times when I'd love to have the snow trap me inside.
However, I do have a lot of errands to do and can't do because
of the un-plowed roads and 4" of snow on the ground.
Here are photos of my driveway and deck.

So what should an artistic person do when facing
this situation? Do art, of course. Only my muse
is still on vacation. I did try a pencil sketch of an
old barn, using Prisacolor pencils. The paper was
really rough textured. I had thought it was watercolor
paper, but now I'm not sure what it is. I am joining
my friends at Paint Party Friday and thanking those of
you who visited my blog, especially those who left
comments, during my recent absence of several weeks.

  5. This weather is something else, isn't it? Nice sketch. It doesn't really matter what paper you used, it does looks great. Sometimes this winter weather brings out your muse, and sometimes it send them off to warmer climates. I think those muse are smart if they take a little vacation right now. :) Hugs-Erika

  6. This has been a winter to remember for sure. We haven't had much snow....so far! But the bitter cold has lasted forever and a so unusual for us.
Love your barn sketch... my muse has gone on vacation too so I'm just playing with acrylic pours for now. Easy and thoughtless and comes up with interesting patterns to use later :)
