This colorful piece started as scribbles and blotches of various colors. I tried to find shapes in this so I have shown the 3 steps I took to do this. I found a cat, a lion, a rabbit, my 3 initials, the girl, and other things.

The barn is just something I dreamed up.
But here below is a portion of another larger piece.
I've seen artists make forms and figures from abstract colors and shapes. So when I had finished a piece using gesso, green and blue sprays, glitter and such, I noticed that at the edge of the piece was this swoop of white mixed with the colors I had used. I decided that it looked like hair so here is my result using oil pastels. This is Lady with Green Hair.
I realize that this "art" is completely out of character for me, but it was fun to do something a little different this week.. This post is my painting for the week and my entry to Paint Party Friday.
Wow Faye..such an exciting post, very inspiring! I love them all..beautiful pieces! The green lady really calls out to me..wow..she has fantastical energy and enchantment and she also feels very serene, peaceful..magical! I am loving your new creations! It is so fun isn't it to create in different ways! The barn is gorgeous too..such a smoothness , softness and lightness to all the colors..wonderful! and Yay..the first piece is so enchanting and whimsical too..the colors feel full of movement, like colored-light moving rapidly..and these wonderful images popping through..I love the cat and lion and the whole piece is full of poetry in motion!

ReplyDeleteI love your blotches painting - it reminds me of Denthe's art (you can find her through Paint Party Friday if you haven't already seen her blog) as she does the same thing always finding something amazing out of a series of blobs and colours. Yours turned out wonderfully. I agree with Christine above how the green lady looks like the Northern Lights and your imaginary barn is really good too!
