Paint Party Friday - Mar. 22

Recently I got an email with a lot of cute children and animals photos.
I have no idea whose photographs they are. I used one of a little girl
wearing her mom's big bonnet while eating an apple. When I had to
take my dh to an appointment downtown I took my journal that has
90# paper and did this sketch from the photo. I will probably paint it
in watercolors but use different colors from the original photograph.
This is my entry for Paint Party Friday. (You may need to click on
my sketch to enlarge it. The pencil shows up very light.)

  14. Oh gosh, I love this! Do you think the lady will be in trouble for taking a bite out of the apple? Her expression says she knows how to enjoy the fruit and stay undiscovered - what say you?

    Happy PPF!

    1. Wondering what to use... acrylics? Leave it a sketch? Color it with pencils? The last may be the right tool.

    2. Hi Faye, my Journal I've been working in and sharing on my blog was Canson 98 lb paper..not 90.. and if I used watercolor and not to much it was fine but I ended up using watercolor, ink and acrylics and got lots of buckling depending on how saturated I got the paper.. but I got started and refused to quit. My new book I am starting is 130 lb paper and soooo much better to work in. I got it at Fred Myers in Oregon. All you can do is try it.

  41. Thank you for visiting my blog and for the idea about the use of my abstract. The funny thing is that many people like my abstracts more than my more realistic paintings :-)
I love your drawing of the little girl with all the apples!

    Happy PPF/nice week!
